Mission Statement The community-based Willamette Valley Cancer Foundation helps low income patients and their families shoulder the burden through an individualized grant program that provides support for their unique situations. Servicing Yamhill, Lincoln and Tillamook counties since 2003, the mission of this nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization is "to foster hope through the support of cancer patients, education and prevention." Kelly McGraw Executive Director Adding to the Quality of Life An individual with late stage cancer was struggling to pay basic bills. This was causing a lot of strain for the family. The Foundation assisted them with their bills, and also helped with an additional month of utilities, rent and groceries in an effort to improve their quality of life during a difficult time. Transporting Care An individual with metastatic colon cancer had to travel a long distance to get specialized care and treatment. The family was concerned about transportation costs. The Foundation provided gas cards to relieve the family's financial stress. Premium Care An individual with newly diagnosed breast cancer was on a fixed income, and was concerned about the additional expenses related to battling cancer, such as transportation and medical premium insurance. She was so overwhelmed by the extra costs that she was considering mot moving forward with treatments. The Foundation provided support and peace of mind so the patient could receive her treatments and focus on her heath. |
